Susan Scurlock, MBE is the award-winning Founding CEO of Primary Engineer. With an education and graphic design background, she was concerned at the number of secondary pupils disengaged with learning at an early age. She looked to primary phase education and quickly realised that engineering was the perfect vehicle to inspire learning and fuel career ambitions and awareness. The breadth of engineering and the opportunities it offers was missing to a large number of teachers, so training teachers became a focus and then linking them with engineers. The Primary Engineer curriculum spans programmes, competitions and qualifications across the UK.
